DESCRIPTION:
J. S. Felt, Portland, Me., (most likely New England Clock Co.), C. 1851, 30-hour "Cigar Box" style shelf timepiece.
CONDITION:
Rosewood and mahogany veneered case in an original finish with some minor veneer loss at a couple of the corners of the door. Original decal glass with some loss is cracked. Wood molding base is probably a later addition as one does not usually see this model with a base. Original dial has some loss at the winding arbor and the mounting pins. Hands are original. Maine label is an over-paste; note also steel straps reinforcing rear of case. Mov't is complete and sound. Ht. 12"
